Lab Central

Lab Central is a marketplace that connects sellers with labs that conduct product testing to help facilitate online sales.

Labs can create test report templates with predefined fields specific to the type of test. Once the values are filled in the template, a report is generated in a machine-readable format that can be consumed by Lab Central. These templates will contain key information required by downstream systems to validate the report.

  • Pain points
  • Without proper guidance from Amazon, labs are left to navigate Amazon’s product testing  requirements and document report formats on their own. This often leads to prolonged service negotiations between labs and sellers, and a loss of trust when sellers have their submissions rejected during the document submission process.
  • The lab user can’t scan their tasks to perform. They currently face difficulties in downloading and uploading documents. 
  • A major pain point for the lab is the lack of notifications for requests triggered via email or other channels. Labs have to manually check Lab Central, as some requests have limited SLAs.
  • As a result, time-bound tasks are often missed, creating significant manual pressure on the lab.
  • Goals
  • Labs can create test report templates with predefined fields specific to the type of test.
  • Once the values are filled in the template, a report will be generated in a machine-readable format and consumed by Lab Central.
  • Make the uploading experience easy and straightforward for Labs/Service Providers.

Dashboard

  • The Labs can view all Bidding and Test Requests on the dashboard. 
  • The requests can be filtered using "Status" and further filtered using secondary filter options.
  • As a lab, I can see a total number of open items under each status: Awaiting Bid, Assigned, Testing In Progress, and Completed.

Within a Test Request page, labs can see the datailed information.This  can generate a bid/contact the requestor for more information.

  • The Lab can viewing bid requests, upload documents, assign a branch.
  • Is it mandatory to view the testing protocol details and document.

Notifications Page

  • As a lab, I would like a notification to populate on my notification page. 
  • All types of notifications will be updated. 
  • Lab can filter using priority or the ones require immediate attention will be marked in red. 
  • If email settings have been applied then those emails will be triggered once a day.
  • Any notification older than 30 days will be cleared.

Bid Analytics

As a lab I want to track within the UI my metrics, create customized reports and pull them at my convenience.
